How to Plan for a healing Postpartum Recovery Journey After Conception

postpartum recovery 101 🧺💗🌱🍜🥹

Hello momma,

Pregnancy looks so different when we use that time (besides the days of feeling super off and unwell) to focus on preparing for  postpartum recovery. If you are looking for some simple steps to clarify what to do after conception, this guide is for you! 💗🥹🧺

After conception, pregnancy to dos: ⬇️

💗 Connect with your village: ideally booking sessions with a holistic doula is best for post birth recovery but if you are just looking for a little direction, feel free to always reach out! I love taking time to support families with creating a healing post birth plan. This is the time to learn about what post birth recovery can look like for you! 💗

🌱Time to research: be mindful of the information you surround yourself with as you are in this tender inward state. Look for healing recovery books focused on supporting the fourth trimester instead of books about “bouncing back”.

🪴Source, borrow and purchase healing items: instead of purchasing stuff that another Pinterest wishlist has encouraged you to, look to purchase items with meaning. You only need a few high quality and impactful items for recovery!

🪻Start a tiny herb garden: this might sound wild but could it be the very thing to slow you down during pregnancy? A simple herb garden of 1-3 plants in pots can be enjoyable as it also benefits you with a beautiful postpartum herb harvest!

🍜 Meal prep post birth nourishing meals: I love a simple weekend meal prep night. Simply take a few recipes that you feel cozy with and batch cook them + freeze!

☀️ Prep your herbs: got a big herb harvest from your postpartum garden? Or did you order sitz bath herbs for recovery? Simply create the sitz bath and peri bottle tea now and freeze in ice cube trays!

🪺 What does your nest need: a deep clean and declutter can do wonders for your mind! Instead of throwing off projects until postpartum, make it a goal to finish them all before your birth.

💗 Share with your partner: don’t take your recovery care on yourself! Take time to share and empower your partner with all the resources you have learned about postpartum. And please make sure to have a glorious prenatal with your doula before your birth - we loveeeeee to prepare you!

Happy healing!
