The Sweetest DIY: Make a Nursing Reminder Bracelet for Postpartum
Hello friends!
I hope you are all doing well and continuing to prepare for your postpartum journey. I recently felt really drawn to this specific label for my work “The Pinterest of Postpartum”. I really hope my blog and social media accounts are a space for you to continue to feel inspired, motivated and encouraged as you prepare for your postpartum recovery. That being said, I have a really sweet DIY I want to share with you all. Most of my momma clients use the trick of a hair tie on the wrist of the same side of the breast that their baby just fed last on. Basically the idea is that for the next feed, you will start on the side where the elastic hair tie is and keep feedings a little more organized. Of course there is now apps and many ways to track the “dessert” side that your baby just finished snacking on. But who doesn’t love a little project to make postpartum even more special of a time.
Maybe it’s a little stretch *literally* but you deserve so much more than a hair elastic on the wrist. Making a simple bracelet with buttons really is such a nod to our childhoods, no? I use to make these bracelets all the time but this one has a fun little twist. I found simple wooden buttons in a flower shape and used a waxed cotton cord that will last atleast six weeks! 🥹
If you haven’t looked into a simple bracelet during postpartum, I highly recommend! Especially during those first few foggy postpartum days and nights, I love sharing the trick of using a band or bracelet. Simply place the bracelet on your wrist on the same side of the breast you just fed your baby on for “dessert”, or the side last and least nursed on. Then at your next feed, start on that side. A simple bracelet can remind you which side to start on!

I used these materials but you can make your own substitutions:
1 cord piece (measure twice around your wrist)
5-8 wooden buttons (I used large ones for safety in case the bracelet breaks and you have toddlers)
Patience and 10 minutes to craft 💗
Would you make a nursing bracelet?
Happy Healing!
